July & August 2026: Wildlife and Marine Life in the South Pacific
My wife and I took these wildlife and marine life photos during a deeply rewarding trip to the South Pacific. It was my very first time seeing purple coral—a moderately rare and breathtaking sight! A lot of people ask if it’s dangerous to photograph sharks, but the answer is no; as long as you aren't bleeding and you don't touch them, they leave you right alone.

2025 July: Taiwan
This photo set features scenes from several iconic locations in Kaohsiung, including E-Da World, Fo Guang Shan, the Pier-2 Art Center, Hamasen Railway Cultural Park, Kaohsiung Music Center, the Great Harbor Bridge, and the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.
Some images from Fo Guang Shan were captured for their aesthetic and cultural significance—please note that there is no intention to promote or endorse any specific religion.
You might notice that these places, including Fo Guang Shan and other well-known sites, appear unusually empty. That’s because a typhoon was passing through Taiwan during my visit, which kept most people indoors.

2025 Maldives
The Maldives is a stunning archipelagic nation located in the Indian Ocean, southwest of India, comprising approximately 1,300 small coral islands spread across 510 miles from north to south. Known for its extraordinary geography, the Maldives consists of low-lying atolls that rise merely 1.8 meters above sea level. As shown in some of the photos below, this location is perfect for photographing sea life and coral reefs. Culturally, the Maldives is predominantly Muslim. It is estimated that the percentage of Muslims in the Maldives population ranges from 98.4% to 100%. Some of the following photos were taken in different mosques.
